Rackhouse Reserve '24
After a few year hiatus, we're thrilled to return to our spirits-barrel cuvée for the third time. Where most of our bourbon-barrel-aged beers are selections of barrels from the same base style, Rackhouse Reserve is an exercise in creating a blend of different base beers. Our goal of course is to highlight the barrels, but in this instance we also want to craft a unique and interesting blend of beer styles.
After laboring through the task of tasting all the barrels in our rackhouse, or cellar of spirits barrels, we selected a variety of different ales and barrels for the final blend, culminating in a harmony of warm flavors reminiscent of caramel, toasted marshmallow, spicy oak and dark chocolate.
ABV: 13.7%
Microbes: Saccharomyces
Food Pairings: Beef tenderloin, chicken mole, miso squash soup, Rogue River Blue cheese, raspberry mousse cake
