Vin to the Abyss
Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Deschutes Brewery, this is a unique concept we’ve been eager to try for quite some time. After trying a wine-grape-infused stout from the Bruery at one of our Alesong & Friends events, we knew we had to give it a go.
This collaboration started in Deschutes' brewhouse, where we created a decadent imperial stout with lactose, oats, and dutched cocoa powder before co-fermenting on crushed and destemmed Horse Heaven Hills AVA Merlot grapes from Weinbau Vineyards. Once fermentation was complete, we aged in a combination of barrels from Westward Whiskey and French oak that previously held Deschutes’ famed Abyss imperial stout. Bold chocolate and dark fruit create pure decadence in your glass.
ABV: 11.9%
Microbes: Saccharomyces
Food Pairings: Blue cheese with blackberry compote, merlot braised short ribs, Alden's Organics raspberry fruit bars
