Get to know Señor Rhino ‘25

Señor Rhino shares the same wonderfully rich and chocolatey base blend of Rhino Suit, our bourbon-barrel-aged imperial milk stout, but Señor forges its own identity. Inspired by Mexican hot chocolate and aged in Heaven Hill barrels, this stout oozes with rich cocoa and spicy cinnamon aromas with background notes of sweet vanilla. Señor Rhino also has a surprise on the finish with a hint of heat from roasted ancho chiles that provides the perfect complement to the full-bodied decadent flavors.

In Oregon’s chilly winter weather, this is the ultimate soul warmer. Señor Rhino is a version of our decadent imperial milk stout inspired by the flavors of a Mexican hot chocolate. The first batch of this beer was a very small club-only blend but it was so delicious we’ve since made it in larger batches a couple of times. The spice blend is really interesting because of how they all hit different parts of your palate – cinnamon up front, ancho in the back. The ancho spice (and any chile pepper) builds over the course of your glass, so typically we want it to be very subtle on your first sip so you’re not on fire by the end of the glass. Cinnamon will mellow over time and like a chile simmering on the stove, these spices continue to integrate and round out in the bottle over time.
