Violinist Julia Frantz has played fiddle since the age of five. Equally comfortable on the classical stage and playing with a rock band, she can be found performing with orchestras throughout the Northwest and bands throughout Oregon. Julia plays with acclaimed Eugene bands Mood Area 52 and Baroque Betty, Scandinavian folk quartet Hostedans, and has shared the stage with everyone from fiddle legend Mark O'Connor to cellist Yo-Yo Ma. When assuming her classical alter ego, she is Assistant Principal 2nd Violinist with the Eugene Symphony, and performs with the Oregon Mozart Players, Portland Opera Orchestra, Pacific Northwest Ballet, and the Oregon Bach Festival. Julia completed her Bachelor of Music at Rice University and her Master of Music at the University of Maryland, College Park. When not playing violin, Julia can be found gardening obsessively, hiking and running with her border collie Sky Pilot and partner Phil, and cuddling with her two cats.
Ness Zolan is a musician, composer, and public servant working daily to elevate the value of art in society and unlock creative economic development. Ness toured in central and south America with the Latin Grammy nominated Pan American Symphony Orchestra, playing violin and viola. He plays around Oregon with The Tailors, a guitar/violin duo. Ness has also produced for the award-winning Kennedy Center, National Symphony Orchestra, and Eugene Symphony. He currently co-leads The Bee on Fox Hollow creative lab in Eugene, OR and holds the position of Senior Director of Economic Development with Onward Eugene, amidst being a dad, and partner.
