Kind of Blue '21
Our third iteration of Kind of Blue is a blend of light-bodied blonde ales aged in French oak and matured on 900 pounds of beautiful, biodynamically grown, Duke, Spartan, and Reka blueberries from our neighbors next door at King Estate Winery. For this year’s version, we actually fermented the beer twice on blueberries, yielding a stunning deep magenta color. It’s notoriously hard to capture flavor from real blueberries because they’re so subtle, but we are incredibly pleased with how they burst out of the glass in this beer. Compared to previous iterations, this beer is softer on the acidity with hints of vanilla layered in from the oak aging process that evoke memories of Grandma’s blueberry cobbler.
