Alesong Earns Bronze Medal at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival

We’re proud to announce that Alesong was awarded a bronze medal at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition. This year marks the seventh year in a row Alesong has received a medal at GABF, coinciding with each year we have released beer since our establishment in 2015. The seven year medal streak is the 5th longest active streak in the country. Alesong was one of only thirteen Oregon breweries to take home an award during this year’s ceremony.

We were recognized in the Mixed-Culture Brett beer-style category for Oregon Sunrise, a mimosa-inspired beer aged in French oak barrels with Pinot Gris grape juice and tangerine. Released in May of this year, Oregon Sunrise is a perfect example of the creative approach we take to brewing, incorporating unconventional ingredients of the highest quality, to craft beverages unlike any other brewery in the area.  As is the case for all Alesong’s beers, Oregon Sunrise was a limited release, barrel-aged blend that once sold out, is gone forever.  We pulled the last few bottles out of the cellar for tasting at the tasting room in the 5th Street Public Market until it’s sold out.

“It’s an honor to be recognized once again on a national scale,” said Brian Coombs, Alesong co-founder and Director of Brewing Operations. “It’s no easy feat to compete alongside so many talented individuals year after year and continue to win medals. It means a lot to us that most of the judges are professional brewers and it feels good that our peers in the beer industry respect and appreciate the work we do.”
