Announcing: Cheers to the Land
Releasing next Monday 10/9 at Alesong on 5th and October's Engage with Alesong charity beer!
Alesong’s Cheers to the Land collaboration is one of 20 beers and ciders made as a benefit for the Oregon Agricultural Trust. Ours is a blend of oak aged saisons utilizing barley from Goschie Farms (Silverton, OR) and other adjunct grains from Hunton’s Farm and Camas Country Mill (Junction City, OR - wheat, rye, unmalted purple barley). Hops were sourced from Crosby Hops (Woodburn OR). The final blend of these Brett fermented ales was aged on freshly juiced rhubarb from Montecucco farms in Canby, Oregon.
Cheers to the Land x Alesong is light, dry, and crisp with a fruity, earthy and mineral forward nose. It finishes with both a mild bitterness and a tangy snap from the addition of the Oregon grown rhubarb.
Oregon Agricultural Trust is a statewide, agricultural land trust that partners with farmers and ranchers to protect ag lands for the benefit of Oregon’s economy, communities, and landscapes. They address the interrelated challenges of the loss of ag land to fragmentation and development and the difficulty of passing land to the next generation, including new and diverse producers. They hold working land easements, help our peers protect ag land, educate farmers, ranchers, service providers about how easements can play a role in land conservation as well as succession planning, and advocate for state and federal funding to preserve ag land.
