Alesong 8th Anniversary!

On Saturday June 15, we will be marking our eighth anniversary of making award-winning barrel-aged beer, wine, and cider with a celebration at our countryside brewery (80848 Territorial Hwy).  Running from 1-8pm, the party will feature live music from local favorite, Inner Limits, complimentary ice cream sandwiches from Alden’s Organics, hot food from the final weekend of Alesong’s Domek pop-up restaurant, and of course, the release of Alesong’s annual Canniversary Collaboration IPA available for on-site consumption and in four packs to-go! No reservations necessary (or accepted) to attend.

As a tongue in cheek nod to the common practice of breweries releasing once-a-year anniversary beers outside of their normal production styles, Alesong releases a highly anticipated collaboration IPA in cans every year for their anniversary. This year we worked with Oregon Beer Awards Best New Brewery, Astoria’s Obelisk Brewing Company to create “Octolith.” The beer is a modern West Coast IPA using all the tropical and citrusy hops du jour, that Alesong doesn't normally get to play with: Strata, Nelson, and Riwaka. Dave from Obelisk will be joining the festivities to help present the beer and we’ll have commemorative coozies to accompany every four-pack purchased.

In addition to Alesong’s anniversary, this IPA celebrates the collaborative nature of the beer industry, showcases Obelisk’s significant expertise in crafting hop-forward beers, and acknowledges that although Alesong makes only barrel-aged beers, we still have plenty of love for the Pacific Northwest’s favorite beer style!

One of Alesong’s three co-founders, Doug Coombs, says this anniversary is meaningful because it’s a chance to gather and celebrate with our community. “The beer industry is going through a lot of turmoil right now and we’re so thankful for the local support we’ve had that continues to allow us to do something that’s different,” says Coombs. “Plus, we’re ready to party and officially kick off the summer!”
