Autumn Release 2023

In conjunction with the end of harvest season and the changing weather, Eugene’s Alesong Brewing & Blending is releasing five new barrel-aged beers the weekend of November 10th at their tasting rooms and across the Pacific Northwest.  This release features new versions of some Alesong fan-favorites as well as a three brand-new beers:

  •  Warm Woolen Mittens (member exclusive) is our latest wine grape co-ferment and showcases some really lovely Merlot from Weinbau Vineyard in the Columbia Valley AVA of Southern Washington against the backdrop of a blend of mixed culture farmhouse ales from our cellar.  Yes, we know the next line in the song is bright copper kettles, but we've got that name saved for another special project!

  • French 75 is back! Inspired by the cocktail of the same name, we took a dry, French-style saison fermented with brettanomyces, aged it in Old Tom gin barrels from Oregon-local Ransom Spirits and then conditioned it on heaps of fresh lemon zest, creating a crisp and citrusy beverage with a complex medley of herbal notes from Ransom's unique botanical blend.

  • For this year’s multi-brewery Terroir Project collaboration, we are showcasing the wonderful fruit and native microflora from Walnut Ridge Vineyard, just up the road near Junction City.  Brian will be debuting this annual spontaneous fermentation project at next weekend’s Terroir Festival in Arizona!

  • And of course we couldn’t skip Rhino Suit for the holiday season!  This year we’re releasing two different, yet familiar, blends of our favorite imperial milk stout, with the focus being on unique and interesting barrels.  Rhino Suit this year was aged in 100% George Dickel 14 year bourbon barrels, adding delicious notes of bourbon, vanilla, and oak.  And new variant, Island Rhino Suit was aged in freshly emptied rum barrels straight from Barbados before receiving a hefty dosing of coconut at packaging, to complete the island vibes.

Alesong will host a release party for Blender’s Circle members at their country brewery the weekend of November 10-12 and the beers will be available for all at Alesong’s downtown tasting room beginning Friday November 10th. Rhino Suit and Island Rhino Suit will also be available at retailers throughout the Pacific Northwest.
